FOOD SECURITY
FOOD PROGRAMS
At the core of the NVHS mission, our MOHM's Place Community Meal Site has served Council Bluffs since 1993 and provides 150,000 meals a year to men, women, children, and families that are experiencing food insecurity. Our flagship program and the heartbeat of our mission, our meal-site is open to the public and truly reflects our low-barrier mindset as it requires no sign-up, paperwork, or identification in order to eat a meal. We are open 7 days a week and we serve 3 meals a day, 365 days a year.

Our Food Security program also includes food pantry boxes and mobile food giveaways that have improved food access for over 15,000 individuals in the Council Bluffs and Omaha area over the past several years. We currently partner with Story Street Pantry and Whispering Roots to offer a monthly drive-through food pantry at our Council Bluffs campus on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

We believe no one should have to audition for food access, and we understand that food is one of the foundational building blocks that must be set into place in order to help individuals move from hunger and homelessness into hope and opportunity.
