It’s been our pleasure to introduce you to our Board of Directors over the past few months. We’re so grateful for this team of leaders who are committed to guiding our programs and practices as we work to better serve our community together! Today we wrap-up our board spotlights with our Board President, Amy Grigsby! Born and raised in Council Bluffs, Amy is a Branch Manager at American National Bank in Council Bluffs and has been with American National for 18 years.
Amy’s initial connection with New Visions took place several years ago when her employer sponsored our Christmas Celebration. “I got to take my family along to volunteer at the event,” she says, “and I was immediately smitten. I knew I wanted to be a part of this organization.” As a life-long resident of Council Bluffs, Amy fosters a deep love for the community that she calls home, and she desires to see the community become a better place to live, for everyone. “My dad was a firefighter in this community. He taught me that every person deserves dignity and respect, and I couldn’t think of a better way to fight for that than to support an organization like New Visions.”
Amy’s free time is often spent with her family, which includes her husband and 4 children as well as 2 dogs. She loves music and has an eclectic playlist that includes everything from Christian to death metal to country. “My husband and I love going to metal concerts,” she says. “People never believe it, but I love the mosh pits. I’ve met some of the nicest people at metal concerts!” Additionally, Amy appreciates time spent on her faith and has enjoyed growing in this area over the past few years.
Under Amy’s leadership, New Visions has also grown and flourished. “The message that I really want to share with people,” says Amy, “is that New Visions is such a strong asset to the community of Council Bluffs. The staff is truly making an impact both on the lives of the people they serve, and on the entire community.” We’re so grateful for Amy’s strong support and leadership during this season. And we know she’ll “ROCK ON” as she continues to serve our board and the community she loves.
