Board of Directors Spotlight: STEVEN MOORE

We’re continuing our Board of Directors Spotlights this week with Steven Moore. Steven joined our Board in 2024 and also serves as Vice President of Food Safety, Quality & Innovation for The Scoular Company. In his role at Scoular, Steven leads cross-functional teams focused on regulatory compliance, food safety systems, quality strategy, and product innovation. As a Vice President, Steven also supports organizational leadership initiatives and strategic growth efforts within the company.

Steven was first introduced to New Visions through community connections and quickly became impressed with our mission and impact. “Prior to joining the Board,” says Steven, “I was aware of the work New Visions was doing and I admired the real support provided to individuals and families facing housing and food insecurity.” The more Steven learned about our programs and the people behind them, the more he wanted to be involved in helping expand that impact. When asked why he agreed to serve on our Board, Steven says, “I said yes because I believe strong communities are built when people step up to support others, especially during difficult seasons of life. New Visions is doing meaningful work that changes lives, and I wanted to contribute my experience, leadership background, and strategic mindset to help strengthen and grow the organization. I also believe it’s important to give back in a way that creates long-term impact, not just short-term help.”

When reflecting on our mission, Steven believes that New Visions is fulfilling our mission each day by offering real resources, strong partnerships, and compassionate support that empowers people to transition toward stability and a better future. “To me,” says Steven, “help, hope, and opportunity means meeting people where they are and providing support that restores dignity and stability. It’s not just about solving an immediate need, but helping individuals and families rebuild their foundation and move forward.”

Outside of work and Board service, Steven enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and being involved in the community. He’s a big Kansas City Chiefs fan and loves anything related to football (sorry they missed the Super Bowl this year, Steven!). He also enjoys cooking and grilling, trying new food spots, and working on creative and hands-on side projects. We’re so thankful to have Steven’s leadership guiding our mission as we work together to provide help, hope, and opportunity to our neighbors experiencing hunger and homelessness.
